Little Bundles

We have started a layette ministry for our neighbors in the Jefferson/New Pittsburgh area. If you know anyone who is expecting or adopting a baby, please contact the church office. We’d love to present them with a little bundle of baby items.

People to People Ministries

On the first Sunday of each month, we have a Communion offering that goes directly to People to People Ministries. We bring in food donations that People to People Ministries needs on a monthly basis.

Food Pantry

Thanks to some very generous donors, we have a wonderful new outdoor food pantry sitting under the light in the parking lot to augment our food outreach to the community!  This mini pantry is an easy way for neighbors to help neighbors who need food, hygiene, or paper items. Currently we have food items and diapers but will add other products as we get them.  This mini pantry belongs to all of us. We can all be caretakers of it and the space around it. Give what you can by placing food, hygiene, or paper items inside the mini pantry. Give what you would want to receive. An easy rule of thumb: buy extra of what you buy your household. No gift is too small. A single can of green beans can help. Items should be unexpired and in good condition. Take what you need. If you find yourself in need, take the items and know that we care about you.

Mountain Vision

An ongoing outreach ministry of Oak Chapel is our annual trip to Valley Head, West Virginia to share Christmas with children in Appalachia. In conjunction with Mountain Vision and in cooperation with two other area churches we provide the children and their families with a Christmas party that includes singing carols, making crafts, lunch, sharing the Christmas story, and gifts for each child (provided by the congregations of Oak Chapel and First Church of God). The youth of Oak Chapel have been involved in this two-day mission trip from its onset and help make this annual trip possible.
