United Women in Faith (UWF) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We’re a sisterhood acting in faith to tackle the hard work of the world without hesitation.
Driven by God’s love and united in sisterhood, we work to improve the lives of women, children and youth. Every day, we show up. We take action. We get it done. And we invite you to join us.

Our local UMW President is Miriam Zech. Contact the church here for more information.
Join Us!
Art & Soul
If you are interested in an evening of fun and fellowship, plan to join us on the first Monday of each month for Art and Soul! No special talent is needed, just a willingness to try new things and enjoy each other’s company. We meet at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Oak Chapel UMC.
Prayer Shawl Ministry

If you have skill in knitting or crocheting (or none at all!), you’re welcome at Prayer Shawls! We have a variety of skill levels among us as we come together for devotions, prayer, and fellowship as we create prayer shawls that remind the recipient that they are blanketed in our prayers and in the love of God. Shawls are given to members who are struggling, as well as donated to Wooster Community Hospital.
We meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Sing-Mar room in the Education Wing.
Bookworms
Bookworms is a small group for those who enjoy reading and then discussing with others who read the same book. The group meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in SingMar Room. Contact the church here for more information!
Day for Girls
Around the world, girls and women resort to using rags, mattress stuffing, banana leaves, feathers, and even cow dung to manage their menstruation. Days for Girls provides a safe, beautiful, washable, and long-lasting alternative, along with vital health education. Oak Chapel is now an official Days for Girls Team. We are sewing shields, liners and bags on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. We welcome anyone who would be willing to help. No special skills or equipment necessary, just show up anytime between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
